2014 Grammy Awards Nominations: Taylor Swift

Some of music's biggest names could not contain their excitement after receiving word that they had been nominated for a Grammy. Or, in many cases, multiple Grammys.
Taylor Swift , who ripped off her dress to reveal a sexy ensemble during her performance at the nominations concert from her "Red" Tour in Australia, tweeted an all caps ecstatic message shortly after hearing the news.
"I LOVE YOU GUYS WE GOT AN ALBUM OF THE YEAR NOMINATION AND I AM TOO EXCITED TO USE PUNCTUATION," she wrote.
The country star scored four nominations, including the aforementioned Album of the Year nod, Best Country Album, Best Country Song ("Begin Again") and Best Country Duo/Group Performance ("Highway Don't Care").

Taylor Swift Celebrates New Year's Eve With Sarah Hyland, Gets Photobombed by Cat Meredith

Unlike some stars, Taylor Swift wasn't popping bottles in the club on New Year's Eve. Instead, the singer attended a low-key bash with a few close friends, including Modern Family's Sarah Hyland and High School Musical's Matt Prokop. Naturally, the trio shared pictures from their party via Instagram.
Wearing a form-fitting red dress and matching lipstick, Swift posed for pictures with her TV star pal. "RINGING IN 2014," she wrote in the photo caption. Hyland, meanwhile, got into the spirit by wearing a festive hat. She too posted a picture to the social networking site. "New Years with the best of the best @taylorswift (I look scared... I think I should be)," the 23-year-old wrote.
After posting the image online, Hyland realized that Swift's cat had crept into their shot. "MEREDITH PHOTOBOMBED US @taylorswift13!!!!!" the Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters star tweeted. Swift duly replied, "There is a very important cat photo bomb happening in that picture."

Prokop—who also took pictures with Swift and his girlfriend—urged his Twitter followers to be responsible while partying. "Happy New Years ladies and gents be safe don't drink and drive. Don't become another statistic," the High School Musical 3: Senior Year star cautioned. Hyland shared similar sentiments by tweeting, "Happy New Year's Eve everyone! Have fun but most importantly STAY SAFE! Uber was made for a reason folks."
On Wednesday, Jan. 1, Hyland posted an Instagram picture of herself getting cheek kisses from Swift and Prokop. "Had the most amazing New Year's Eve with some pretty awesome people. Very grateful for my friends," the actress wrote.
Looks like the famous friends had some good, clean fun on New Year's Eve!

TAYLOR NAMED TENNESSEAN OF THE YEAR

Seven-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift has been named Tennessean of the Year for 2013 by Nashville’s The Tennessean newspaper.

In a December 29th front page story, the paper writes that “Swift has become a worldwide ambassador for Tennessee’s capital city, an example to millions of young (and not-so-young) people…and a financial booster to some of the city’s most important institutions.”

“She’s one of the most dynamic and popular musical performers in the world, and she’s perceived as having universal appeal across categories. She transcends genres, and that’s a great thing for the city,” said Nashville Mayor Karl Dean.

The honor is awarded annually to “the person who has made the most exceptional contribution to the lives of Tennesseans this year,” and is determined by the paper’s editorial board, based on reader nominations. Past winners include a cross-section of scientists, physicians, political leaders, and entertainers.

In addition, Taylor has again been lauded as the world’s most charitable celebrity, coming in at #1 on DoSomething.org’s annual “Celebs Gone Good” list for the second year in a row. The list ranks celebrities “making positive impact and showing generosity.”
